Post subject:  When do I choose an absolute qualitative weighting?

You can either weight a connection just by using weak, middle or strong. Or you can enhance this weighting by choosing percentage values to further differentiate weak and strong connections using your gut feeling on whether by comparison one factor has an influence e.g. ten percent higher, or twice as high as another factor. Finally and most sophisticated you can use percentage values for your weighting with analogies to real figures/proportions. We call that absolute, qualitative weighting. Here is an example:
